Allu Arjun joins the cast on the sets of his next flick, Duvvada Jagannadham

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is also busy with his yet-to-be-titled Tamil debut, teaming up with Ligusamy.

Bringing us the first update on the much-awaited film Duvvada Jagannadham (DJ), Allu Arjun on Friday gave the news that he joined sets of the film for shooting.

“1st day of shooting after a long gap! Been waiting for this. Good to be back[sic], ” the actor tweeted.

The shooting of the movie began sometime ago and it is said to be progressing quickly. Under Harish Shankar’s direction, the movie is being produced by Dil Raju. It also features Pooja Hegde as the female lead. Devi Sri Prasad will be scoring music for the film which is slated for a release in summer 2017.

After 8 years, producer Dil Raju and Arjun are reuniting for DJ. In 2008, the duo had worked in super hit Parugu. However, Gabbar Singh fame director Harish is also working with Arjun for the first time. The director had worked with many big-ticket stars including Pawan Kalya, Vekatesh, Ram Charan and Ravi Teja.

Reports also reveal that the stylish star has been hitting the gym regularly as he will be shown in a new look in DJ. He will be flexing his muscles and six-pack abs for Duvvada Jagannadham.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is also busy with his yet-to-be-titled Tamil debut, teaming up with Ligusamy. At a press meet, Arjun had said that Chennai has been an integral part of his life as he lived for about 20 years in the city and he was carefully planning his debut in Tamil.

“I Thank director Lingusamy and producer Gyanvelraja for launching me into Tamil Film Industry! I thank the people and media of Tamil Nadu for the welcome!” the actor had earlier said.
