People present in the station reported that the escalator malfunctioned as it sped up and then suddenly came to a halt, and while the authorities, MARTA officials and the manufacturers of the escalator are still investigating what caused this problem, it is believed that the sudden burst of movement might have been a factor. This stampede became the closing chapter in an already chaotic Atlanta run for the artiste, as just two days before her first performance in the city, someone stole from a rental car belonging to her crew. It has been confirmed that the stolen items included hard drives with unreleased songs, show plans, and past and future set lists for her tour. Beyoncé’s choreographer and one of her dancers were grabbing something to eat while the car was parked outside a food hall. When they came out, they saw someone had smashed the rear window and stolen two briefcases which contained sensitive information. Beyoncé has suffered heavily because of leaks early in her career, as two of her albums have found their way onto the internet before their release dates.

The artiste’s next performance will be in Las Vegas on July 25 and 26, which will mark the end of this tour.
