The new verison of ‘Mainu Ishq Da Lagya Rog’ is in fact quite sensual with Khushali showing off her moves in a mid-riff baring outfit with the wind blowing through her hair.
Gulshan Kumar’s daughters Khushali and Tulsi Kumar have recreated the song, ‘Mainu Ishq Da Lagya Rog’ from Mahesh Bhatt’s 1991 hit film, ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’ starring Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt.
While the original song was a slow romantic one with Pooja Bhatt expressing her love to a stubborn and hurt Aamir, the new video is in fact quite sensual with Khushali showing off her moves in a mid-riff baring outfit with the wind blowing through her hair.
The recreated ‘Mainu Ishq Da Lagya Rog’ is sung by Khushali’s sister, Tulsi Kumar who also features in the video.
Though there is no similarity between the new version and the recreated one, the makers did however, include the famous white cap in Khushali’s video.
The song has been shot aesthetically with a rich backdrop and the concept has been visualised by Khushali herseld who is also making her debut in front of the camera.
The special music video seeped is an ode by siblings Tulsi and Khushali to their father, the music mogul Late Gulshan Kumar. According to them, the song doesn’t just bring back a feeling of nostalgia, but also many emotions that are attached with the original song and their father’s passionate nature and dedication towards perusing perfection.

Khushali, who is a renowned designer, has dressed many stars at the international level including Shakira, Justin Bieber, former Spice girl, Melanie B and singer Leann Rimes. Even though she is said to have received several film offers before, this is her onscreen debut.
It was apparently brother Bhushan Kumar who came up with the idea of recreating the chartbuster number from the Aamir Khan starrer, as it was among their father, Gulshan Kumar’s favourite tracks and ‘Mainu Ishq Da Lagya Rog’ is a tribute to him.
Directed by John Romeo, the music has been recreated by Arko.
