The flourishing Punjabi music industry, which is famous for its catchy numbers, has a long list of contributors. A host of young, energetic writers, composers and singers have made Punjabi music industry a success.
Adding to the list is the full package in himself, singer Guru Randhawa. The 24-year-old Guru began singing at the age of seven and has been performing at various musical venues in his hometown. After completing High School, Guru Randhawa moved to Delhi to pursue his passion for music. To advance in the business of entertainment, he joined IIPM college and finished his MBA.
“I was blessed to have worked with Kailash Kher and Bohemia, which has really added to give me the platform I needed. My track ‘Patola’, sung along with Bohemia gave me a recognition of my own. Next was my solo track ‘Chadd gayi’. ‘Khat’, ‘Outfit’ and few others came next,” he says.
Born in Punjab, Guru Randhawa is a singer-songwriter and ready to challenge the norm.
“The industry and my fans encouragement made me work on my own compositions more and it is good to see my track ‘Yaad Mod Do’, sung along with Millind Gaba, is liked by all,” the singer added.
Best Debut Male at awardee at ‘PTC MUSIC AWARDS 2014″ says, “I aim to sing for the Bollywood industry as well and am working on few projects too. If all goes well my tracks will be heard soon.”
The singer is happy about the fact that he is one of the contributors to an industry which has track of all emotions. Guru says, “One can find a Punjabi song in all genres. I, as a singer, too aim to sing all kind of songs. Ranging from catchy numbers to soft ones, all could be found here.”
The singer states himself to be ‘moody’ and claims to have very few friends.
“I might have sung party numbers but I love to party alone. I have a very small list of friends with whom I gel and love to spend my time with,” expressed the singer when asked about ‘Guru’ as a person.
The singer asked aspiring singers to stick to their uniqueness rather than to follow others.
