The entire music community, and especially the people of Assam, were shocked to hear about the passing of singer Zubeen Garg in September. Ever since then, tributes have been pouring in from all over the world, including other singers and artists. The latest to join that list was pop-country singer Post Malone, who surprised everyone by giving a shoutout to the late singer while performing in Guwahati.

While their worlds never collided during Zubeen’s long and prolific career, Malone’s tribute proves how far and wide Zubeen’s impact was. While performing, Malone stopped the tracks and said, “To be in the home of the great legendary Zubeen tonight, ladies and gentlemen… I just hope everyone’s having an amazing day and an amazing night. My name is Austin Richard Post, and I’ve come to play some street songs.”
