Queen of pop Madonna has taken to Instagram to mark her son Rocco’s 16th birthday and described him as a wild child. The Hung Up hitmaker was estranged from her second child for several months at the beginning of this year, after he left her tour in December to live in the UK with his father Guy Ritchie, but they have been taking steps to repair their relationship and she took to Instagram on Thursday to share a number of posts in honour of the teenager’s birthday.
In one image, which featured Rocco in the present day and also as a toddler, she wrote, “Happy Birthday Wild Child! Time waits for no one!! (sic).” A second picture featured the 57-year-old singer cradling Rocco when he was still very young and was captioned, “Once my baby always my baby. Happy Sweet 16! (sic).”
The third image Madonna shared seemed to have been taken on her recent family visit to Kenya and featured Rocco and his adopted younger brother David, nine, brandishing shields to the camera, reported Female First. She wrote, “Happy Birthday to my First Born Son! A true Warrior with a beautiful Heart. Let the Sun shine (sic).”
Earlier, Pop queen Madonna and her children visited Kibera in Kenya, an area known as Africa’s largest slum. The 57-year-old singer has shared some images of a trip to Kibra, also known as Kibera, with Shining Hope for Communities, a charitable organisation which links free schools for girls to services for communities such as clean water and free health care, reported Female First. Alongside one picture of young children she simply wrote: “Striking a Pose in Kibera! Rebel Hearts.”
