Jimin, a member of the popular South Korean boyband BTS, posted a video to thank Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling for gifting him the guitar that he used in the new movie Barbie. In the film, Gosling, who plays Ken, wears the same cowboy outfit that Jimin wore in the “Permission to Dance” music video.

Earlier, Gosling had posted a video apologising to Jimin for wearing the same cowboy outfit. Jimin posted the video on Tuesday, and said, “Hi Ryan and hi Ken, its Jimin. Congrats on your big release. My fans are excited to see your video. So thank you so much. I could see that you looked great in my outfit. Thank you for this guitar. I really loved it and I look forward to watching Barbie. Go Barbie!”

He captioned the video, “Thanks for having my outfit in #BarbieTheMovie! You rocked it, Ken.”

As per the ‘unspoken Ken code’ in Barbie land, two Kens cannot copy each other’s fashion and outfits. He said in the video, “‘Hi Jimin, it’s Ryan Gosling here. I noticed that your Permission To Dance video outfit is the same as my Ken outfit in the upcoming movie Barbie. I have to give it to you, you wore it first and you definitely wore it better.”

The actor also explained the “unspoken Ken Code” and hoped that Jimin would accept the guitar as an ‘apology’. He added, “Besides, Ken doesn’t really play anyway. So, it will be much better in your hands.”

Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the titular character. The film, directed by Greta Gerwig, clashed with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer at the box office. In India, Barbie is trailing Oppenheimer by a significant margin, even as it vastly outperforms the biographical epic in overseas markets.
