Dubhang

When Vishaka goes into labour and Rohan takes her to the hospital, the doctor informs him that his wife has delivered twins. He is shocked because he was worried about bringing up one child and now there were two of them. Just then,Sujit comes and begs him to part with one child as his wife has lost her baby and she would be shattered on learning of her loss. In turn,Sujit tells him he would give him all the pleasures of life; a bungalow, car, servants and a bank balance. Finally Rohan parts with one child. But he is not able to live with the guilt.

Adinath Kothare as Rohan is very impressive in his performance but he looks too young to play a father. Urmila Kanetkar as Vishaka too is good as an understanding wife who loves her husband immensely and and trusts him blindly. Ajinkya Deo plays the rich Sujit who is helpless when his wife Sonali Kulkarni loses her baby for the third time in a row. Everyone has played their parts very well. One of the friends of Rohan stammers ( a take-off of Tusshar in the Golmaal series). But unlike the original, this does not arouse any laughter. The camerawork by Shailesh Awasthi needs a mention,so does the action by Andalip Pathan and the costumes by Nilima Kothare. Going by the current trend, there are kissing scenes in the film. Overall, the film is a lesson to young couples to take life seriously and not make frivolous and unruly commitments that tend to harm their close ones.

Ratings : Three stars: for Mahesh Kothare’s direction and for the performances by Urmila Kanetkar and Adinath Kothare.
