It was a rather silent year for Trisha in cinema as she only had the brief appearance in a dance number in Vijay-Venkat Prabhu’s GOAT. However, she has a jam-packed 2025 with back-to-back releases in multiple languages. One of the first such releases would be directors Akhil Paul and Anas Khan’s Identity. The makers released the teaser of the film, and also revealed that it would hit screens this January.
The director duo, who earlier made Forensic, are once again joining forces with Tovino Thomas for Identity, which has all the markings of a gripping investigation thriller. The teaser begins with Trisha’s character Alisha recalling details of a person’s face for Tovino’s character to sketch. This recollection keeps repeating in the intriguingly cut teaser that introduces the other players of this thriller. Through her description of the John Doe running in the background, we see glimpses of Vinay Rai, Shammi Thilakan, Aju Varghese, and Archana Kavi. There are also some intense chase sequences elevated by Jakes Bejoy’s gripping score.
With cinematography by Akhil George, and editing by Chaman Chakko, Identity is backed by Raju Malliath’s Ragam Movies, and Dr Roy CJ’s Confident Group banner.
Apart from Identity, Trisha will also be seen in Magizh Thirumeni’s Ajith Kumar-starrer Vidaamuyarachi, which is expected to hit the screens this Pongal. She will also be seen in Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited fantasy film, Vishwambhara, helmed by Vassishta, and is playing a pivotal role in Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, which will hit the screens on June 5, 2025. Trisha is also reportedly part of Ajith Kumar’s next, Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, but there have been no official updates about the same.
