When rumours began circulating that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal might join “Thala” Ajith Kumar in the movie Thunivu, fans of both stars were elated because it would be their first-ever collaboration.
The excitement grew more when Ajith made a surprise visit to the set of Priyadarshan’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, in which Mohanlal played the lead role, adding fuel to the speculations.
Nonetheless, cinema enthusiasts were disappointed when H Vinoth’s Thunivu was released earlier this year, as it didn’t feature Mohanlal, contrary to earlier rumours.
Meanwhile, fans of both actors are now thrilled once again, as the two were recently seen together in Dubai. According to reports, Ajith paid a visit to Mohanlal at the latter’s apartment in the Burj Khalifa building.
Posting a photo of himself alongside the two actors, entrepreneur and Mohanlal’s friend Sameer Hamsa noted on social media: “An enchanting evening of friendship and camaraderie with the stellar presence of Lalettan and actor Ajith, where every moment was a treasure. 🌟🌟”
Previously, following the announcement of the Malayalam fantasy film Barroz, which marks Mohanlal’s directorial debut, there were speculations circulating that Ajith Kumar might join the project. However, the Barroz team later refuted these rumours.
On the work front, Mohanlal currently has a slew of projects in the pipeline. While his Barroz is gearing up for a December release, Malaikottai Vaaliban, his maiden project with ace filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery, will hit screens early next year. Mohanlal is also a part of Jeethu Joseph’s Neru and Ram, and Nanda Kishore’s Vrushubha.
Ajith, on the other hand, is currently working on Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaa Muyarchi. Ajith was last seen in Thunivu, which failed to strike a chord with the audience as well as critics.
One of the most anticipated Malayalam movies at the moment, Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Mohanlal-starrer Malaikottai Vaaliban is all set for its grand premiere. Now, Mohanlal himself has dropped the biggest and most-awaited update: the release date of Malaikottai Vaaliban.
Taking to social media on Monday, on the occasion of LJP’s 45th birthday, Mohanlal shared a new poster of the movie and announced that the film will hit theatres on January 25, 2024. “The countdown has begun! Vaaliban is arriving in theatres worldwide on 25th January 2024,” Mohanlal noted.
