Thor: Ragnarok starring Chris Hemsworth is doing wonders not just at the world box office, but even in India. The latest and 17th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe released on November 3 and is having a swell time. In India, too, this Taika Watiti directorial is doing good business and is easily outdoing Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Ittefaq, which is a full-fledged Bollywood film. According to boxoffieindia.com, the film collected Rs 3.25 crore on Tuesday taking its total earnings to approx Rs 35 crore so far.
Thor: Ragnarok is the third installment in the Thor franchise and marks the return of two of the most powerful superheroes in Marvel Cinematic Universe – Thor and Hulk. The duo was notably absent in the last big Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War, which otherwise had the presence of most Marvel superheroes and also introduced a few new ones like Spider-Man and Black Panther.
Thor: Ragnarok also stars Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, and others. Cate Blanchett plays Hela, the Goddess of Death who returns to Asgard in the absence of Anthony Hopkins’ Odin, ruler of Asgard. Thor is banished on a distant planet where he finds his old friend, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/ Hulk. He then cobbles together a team to kill Hela and take back Asgard.
