Singer Mel B on her divorce with Stephen Belafonte: Being a good person doesn’t guarantee that others will be good people too

English singer and actor Mel B is currently going through a tough phase of life. Her legal divorce battle with husband Stephen Belafonte has made her even stronger. In her recent post on Instagram, Mel B spoke about her single parenthood and wrote that she is strong enough to raise her children alone.

Singer Mel B, who is currently involved in a bitter divorce battle with estranged husband Stephen Belafonte, says she is strong enough to raise her children alone. Mel B has an 18-year-old daughter Phoenix with her former husband Jimmy Gulzar, as well as Angel, 10, with comedian Eddie Murphy and Madison, six, with Belafonte.

The 42-year-old wrote an empowering message about single parenthood on Instagram on September 24, reports “Talking with my 18-year-old daughter today and I told her I learned the hard way in life that and that cannot always count on others to respect my feelings even if I respect theirs.”

She added: “Being a good person doesn’t guarantee that others will be good people too, you only have control over yourself and how you choose to be as a person, as for others well you can choose to either accept them or walk away, even if your left all alone with no one it doesn’t really mean you’re alone, no. It just means you’re strong enough to handle things all by yourself. Boom she replied hell yeh mummy that’s why I love you, then I cried! I love my three daughters, they are my everything, my heart, my soul, my world.”

Recently, Mel b has also shared a beautiful picture with her mother captioning it. “What an an amazing night last night I had with my beautiful mother at the faceforwardla gala,thank you thank you eborah alessi for everything you do and the woman you are, your just incredible you truly are, your changing women’s lives every day and giving them back their self-respect and installing them with hope love and care,and for that alone I’m honored and humbled to have been apart of it all last night and will continue to do so!!!!”
