Scooby Doo movie Scoob will hit screens on May 15, 2020.

The first teaser for Scoob is out. It appears that we will not only get a Scooby-Doo story, but also the Mystery Inc gang’s genesis, starting from the meeting between a young Shaggy and Scooby as a pup. We have not seen an origin story for Scooby-Doo before.

The film is based on the classic Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! cartoon series. Scooby is a talking Great Dane who together with his human friends Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne solve seemingly supernatural and ghostly mysteries which more often than not turn out to be not-so-supernatural.

The teaser has the modern animation style (read Pixar), and it surprisingly works quite well. The tone of the film is classic Scooby-Doo with humour and action seamlessly mixed.

If you love the cartoon series, chances are Scoob will be right up your alley.

Frank Welker, Will Forte, Zac Efron, Gina Rodriguez, and Amanda Seyfried voice Scooby and gang. Tracy Morgan, Kiersey Clemons, Ken Jeong, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs have given voice to other characters.

The official synopsis reads, “The first full-length animated Scooby-Doo adventure for the big screen is the never-before told stories of Scooby-Doo’s origins and the greatest mystery in the career of Mystery Inc. “SCOOB!” reveals how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. Now, with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global “dogpocalypse,” the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined.”

Scoob will release on May 15, 2020.
