Witherspoon will not be reprising her role for the NBC TV pilot, and “Drop Dead Diva” star Kate Levering has been cast in her place.
Nathalie Kelly will also appear in the reboot as Kathryn’s right-hand woman.
The film’s original writer-director Roger Kumble and producer Neal H Moritz are both involved in the series.
