Rampage stars Dwayne Johnson Rampage releases on April 20, 2018.

The trailer of Dwayne Johnson starrer Rampage is here and it is reminding us of the times when watching Peter Jackson’s King Kong was an experience in itself. That was more than 20 years ago but the formula of the genre has stayed the same.

Dwayne Johnson’s character has a strong bond with George, an extraordinarily intelligent gorilla. But a genetic experiment on the gorilla goes awry leaving him extremely violent and much bigger in size. But it’s not just George, several other animals have also been altered genetically and it’s creating a havoc in the city. The animals are tearing down everything that they come across on their path. The trailer gives us a glimpse of a giant wolf and a monstrous crocodile that have become the subjects of this experiment as well. Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the man who is the evil mastermind and considers humans to be the smartest species but to his surprise, the animals are too difficult to control. Dwayne’s Davis has to take matters in his own hands and stop the animals and the ones altering them, before it’s too late. He has to secure an antidote that reverses the effects of the experiment.

Along with Dwayne Johnson, Rampage also stars Naomie Harris, Joe Manganiello, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Malin Akerman. The film is directed by Brad Peyton, who earlier helmed San Andreas.

Rampage is based on an arcade game that was quite popular in the 80s. This is the first film to be based on this game. Rampage releases on April 20, 2018.
