Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey says visiting Rio Olympics with model wife Camila Alves was a wonderful experience.
The 46-year-old Interstellar star, who just got back from Rio after cheering US Olympians there, said he had been everywhere from beaches to Olympic village, with his wife in that one week, reported Entertainment Tonight. “I was there for one week and it feels like I saw enough to be there for a month. My wife and I jammed in as much as we could,” McConaughey recounted.
“From the beach, Copa Cabana, back to the OlympicVillage and back again 10 times,” he said. McConaughey also revealed that her wife often ended up cheering for Brazil as she is Brazilian. “I was in the American cheering section with all the other American swimmers, so when a Brazilian was in the race, she made sure to get out of that section to go hang out with the Brazilians,” he said.
Oscar-winning actor Matthew Mcconaughey is also proud his charity Just Keep Livin has assisted the lives of over 10,000 people. The 46-year-old True Detective star started the foundation with his wife Camila, aiming to enrich high school students by giving the teenagers access to tools that will help them make positive life choices, reported Contactmusic.
MCConaughey was honoured for his philanthropic efforts at Unite4:Humanity, an event thrown by charitable social network company Unite4:Good and Hollywood outlet Variety.
“We have 10,000 alumni, so we have 10,000 young men and women who have gone through our programme, and are out now. A lot of them still come back to help out,” he said.
MCConaughey is in awe over the leadership skills exhibited by Just Keep Livin graduates – when he was a teenager, it’s unlikely he’d be doing half the things the kids in the programme take on.
