Singer Hariharan’s son Karan Hariharan is set to make his debut in a thriller, Missing on a Weekend, which is slated for release on July 1.
Written and directed by Abhishek Jawkar, the film has been produced by Red Bulb Studios and Adept Films. Apart from Karan, the film stars Pavan Malhotra, Dishank Arora, Dibyendu Battacharya, Jyotii Sethi and Mahsa Kooshesh.
Based in Goa, the film revolves around the life of a group of friends who go missing. “Its a fiction and is inspired by similar incidents of crime and drug mafias. Suspense thriller is one genre that is loved by the maximum number of audience and involves them fully,” said Jawkar during a press conference in the city on Friday.
Karan said he is looking forward for the release of the movie. “There is a certain responsibility to perform good when you come from the family of a film personality. I wish to carry on the legacy of my grandfather who was also an actor. I hope the film does well,” he said.
Actor Pavan Malhotra is back again on the screen as a cop in the film, who has been assigned the case of the missing group of friends. “Though I am performing the same role, the character, approach and story are different,” said Malhotra praising the director and his vision.
