Samay Raina recently made a major comeback on social media after February, and announced his global stand-up tour. A short while after, he gave an honest update to fans after the India’s Got Latent controversy. The comedian also shared photos with his friends Gursimran Khamba, Tanmay Bhat, and The Rebel Kid aka Apoorva Mukhija, who was also a part of the controversial episode, that put them in a lot of trouble.
On May 14, Samay Raina posted a video and a bunch of Instagram Stories featuring his friends and family. In the clip, he announced that he will be touring Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand on June 5. In the series of photos, he shared moments of having a meal with Gursimran Khamba, video calling with his parents, and working out in the gym with Tanmay Bhat.

One of the Insta Stories also featured Apoorva Mukhija, who was named in the FIR and legal troubles, alongside the comedian. The photo showed them raising a toast and it was followed by a brief emotional note in which he opened up about his mental status during that time and thanked his fans for booking tickets for his tour. It read, “Aaj kuch zyaada hi storyiaan daaldi. Bohot ghutan si thi yaar kya bataau kaafi nikaal diya ek saath hi (I had been feeling suffocated, I let a lot of it out in one go). I love you all. I’m so happy to be experiencing all this love. I can’t wait to see you guys in my shows abroad and in India. I’m so grateful to all of you.”

Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent’s row started in February this year, after contestant Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps passed vulgar comments in the episode. Raina was summoned before the police and named in an FIR in connection with the case against his YouTube show. He was not active on Instagram ever since, his last post was being dated February 9. However, in the last few weeks, Allahabadia and Mukhija returned to social media.
