Remake of Kalicharan,Khalnayak,Hero,Karma in the offing

Veteran film-maker Subhash Ghai, who is currently working on Kanchi, plans to remake some of his successful films.

Ghai confirms,“We are contemplating on the remake of Khalnayak and other films that were blockbusters.” The film-maker has nothing against remakes and believes that the trend was always there in the industry. Ghai who has directed and produced many blockbusters plans to revive some of them says,“Since other makers are cashing on remakes,we thought why not remake our own films and earn some money. We are planning to rework on the scripts to adapt it to present times as scripts written in the 80’s won’t work now. We are planning to start work on Kalicharan,Hero,Karma and Khalnayak,”

Remake of old films according to Ghai helps in familiarising today’s generation with films made in that era. “The youth is unaware of films like Karma and through remakes I want to make them aware about these films,” adds Ghai. His upcoming film,Kanchi is based on a social issue and features Rishi Kapoor,Mithun Chakraborty, debutant Mishti,Kartik Tiwari,Rishabh Sinha and Chandan Roy Sanyal. The film is slated to release on August 30.
