Multiplex stubbornness affects Nautanki Saala collections

Nautanki Saala managed to generate about Rs 3.25 crores on Friday.

The current trend when it comes to film distribution highly favours multiplexes across the country in terms of releasing smaller films. The recent cases that have brought this issue to the forefront are David Dhawan’s Chasme Baddoor, and Y-Films’ Mere Dad Ki Maruti. However, the latest to bear the brunt of the Cineplex stubbornness is the recently release Rohan Sippy film Nautanki Saala.

A couple of days ago, just prior to the film’s release, the industry was abuzz with talk of the dispute between the makers of Nautanki Saala and leading multiplex chain PVR. The reason behind the dispute was the profit sharing ratio that was being demanded by the Cineplex chain, which severely put a strain on the filmmakers and audiences.
