Kareena signed up for Shuddhi

Karan Johar confirmed Kareena Kapoor Khan for the lead role in Shuddhi.

Karan Johar confirmed Kareena Kapoor Khan for the lead role in Shuddhi. The Dharma Productions’ film will be directed by Karan Malhotra,who previously directed Agneepath. Kareena is cast opposite Hrithik Roshan in the film. “When Karan (Malhotra) came to me with Shuddhi,he wanted to cast Hrithik and Kareena. I spoke to both of them and they were happy to be on board. The film is an intense love story and because it has a reincarnation theme,he has written a script that is dramatic and outstanding,” says Johar.

Harshvardhan to debut in Mirza Sahiba

Anil Kapoor’s son,Harshvardhan Kapoor,will make his acting debut in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s next,Mirza Sahiba. Gulzar has written the script for the film,the subject of which is very close to Mehra’s heart. It’s a tragic love story based on folklore,but the film will be given a contemporary touch. The female lead is not yet finalised and the film goes on floors

in 2014.

Katrina not confirmed for Dostana 2

The female lead for Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 is still uncertain. The film,goes on floors towards the end of the year. Deepika Padukone was supposed to be a part of this sequel but no official announcement was made. However,it is believed that Katrina Kaif will play the lead role in Dostana 2 and has kept her dates open from October 2013 to January 2014. But the producers are yet to confirm this.

Ekta pulls out of Abhishek’s next

Ekta Kapoor will no longer be producing her cousin Abhishek Kapoor’s film,an adaptation of Charles Dickens novel,Great Expectations. “The reason for this was the high budget of the film which Ekta was not willing to go with,” said a source. With Abhishek looking for a producer,he approached Disney UTV as they had produced his last project,Kai Po Che.
