Indian Idol 2 winner Sandeep Acharya no more

Indian Idol 2 winner Sandeep Acharya died at the age of 29 in a Gurgaon hospital on Sunday (December 15).

Sandeep Acharya,who hailed from Rajasthan,was the winner of the popular singing reality show in 2006.

According to reports Sandeep Acharya had been suffering from jaundice for 15 days now.

The singer was shifted to the Gurgaon hospital after his condition deteriorated,family members said adding he breathed his last in the afternoon.

Playback singer and Indian Idol 2 judge Shreya Ghoshal expressed her shock on Sandeep’s sudden demise: Just heard abt Indian Idol Sandeep Acharya.. Shocked. Too young,and a wonderful guy.. I still hope this news is untrue..

Indian idol 2 co-judge Sonu Nigam also tweeted: “Sandeep Acharya died? Oh my God… any1 knows how? I’m so so sad. Wht a btful soul.” He further tweeted: Jaundice? Gosh. .. very sad. The boy was just 29… this year….Oh God,is only about deaths I feel. God give his parents sm strength.

Co-judge Farah Khan wrote: “It’s too sad to hear of Sandeep Acharya,winner of ‘Indian Idol 2’ and my favourite. passing away. Such a gentle boy he was. Not his time to go.”

Indian Idol host Mini Mathur tweeted: “What a sad,premature goodbye to a talented,ambitious,happy boy. RIP Sandeep Acharya.

Condoling Sandeep’s death,Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said “it was the most unfortunate and untimely death of the young talent.”

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said he could not believe that such a talented young singer was no more. He brought fame to Rajasthan by winning Indian Idol 2,Gehlot said.

Sandeep Acharya is survived by his wife and a one-month-old daughter.
