Gerard Butler charged with criminal assault

‘300’ star Gerard Butler has been charged with criminal assault after allegedly beating up a photographer,a British newspaper reported.

The Scottish actor who is a ‘good friend’ of Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been charged with battery,by a Los Angeles City Attorney after it investigated claims that the star attacked a paparazzo outside the premiere party for Guy Ritchie film ‘RocknRolla’,last year in October.

The actor who had recently visited India,was exiting the party when he caught sight of the photographer and allegedly punched him in the face,reported ‘Daily Mail’.

Butler’s representatives did not deny the incident but insisted that the photographer had been stalking the star and almost killed a pedestrian as he chased the actor through Hollywood. Butler is due in court for an arraignment on 10 June.
