Birthday boy Salman Khan on lookout for real life ‘Veers’

Actor Salman Khan celebrated his 44th birthday by launching a worldwide hunt for real life heroes as he promotes his upcoming film 'Veer'.

Actor Salman Khan celebrated his 44th birthday on Sunday by launching a worldwide hunt for real life heroes as he promotes his upcoming film “Veer”.

“You have often heard my stories,now I want to know yours. There is a ‘Veer’ in each one of us. I will personally pick up the stories that I like and I’m waiting to meet these Real Life Veers,” said Salman about his new initiative on the blog,especially created for promoting his dream project.

The actor is at his Panvel farm house with family and close friends to celebrate his birthday.

“People simply have to go to Salman’s blog and write down their real life bravery stories. Salman himself will read through these stories and select five ‘Veers’. All of whom he will then meet personally,” says a source close to the actor.

Salman,who is famously known in the industry for his generosity,has now decided to do a worldwide search for people who deserve to be recognised.

The period flick,set in 1875,is slated for a theatrical release on January 22,2010.

Salman,who plays a Pindari soldier in the movie,has also scripted the story.

“It’s the untold saga of a freedom fighter,who fought for social justice and independence,” the actor said.
