Hollywood star Ben Affleck is reportedly being eyed to direct superhero ensemble film “Justice League” based on the DC comics.
The 39-year-old actor is expected to begin the discussion with Warners Bros in the coming days, reported Ace Showbiz.
Affleck himself has made it clear that he would only direct films, which would also include him in the star-cast.
It is likely that he will also get his own suit in “Justice League”. However, his representative hasn’t clarified on the speculation.
In addition to “Justice League”,Affleck has been courted to direct WB’s sci-fi drama “Replay” which is based on Ken Grimwood’s 1987 book.
He’s also approached to adapt Stephen King’s novel “The Stand” for the studio. It’s unclear whether Warners will wait for him to finish the film or find another director instead.
The studio has been developing “Justice League” for some years. Before hiring Will Beal as the screenwriter, the studio initially chose Kieran and Michele Mulroney to pen the script with George Miller as the director.
The long-awaited DC superhero film won’t hit theaters until summer 2015,which could put it up right against Marvel’s “The Avengers 2”.
