A fast-track court will conduct trial of the case in which Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja is accused of raping his young domestic help,Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said on Thursday.
“This case will go to the fast track court so that speedy justice is provided,” Chavan,accompanied by chairperson of National Commission for Women Girija Vyas told reporters in Mumbai.
The Chief Minister said the matter was still under investigation and though medical reports had confirmed rape,the DNA report is still awaited.
The state government will provide financial assistance to the victim and ensure that she will be rehabilitated in the society,he said.
“Our aim is to see that victim does not suffer,” he said. Earlier,Girija Vyas,who arrived in the city in the morning,met with the victim,the police commissioner and Shiney Ahuja’s wife Anupam.
35-year-old Ahuja was arrested on June 14 for allegedly raping his maid at his residence on Sunday in suburban Oshiwara.
