They met and fell in love in the prequel, and now after four long years, Tanu, played by Kangana Ranut and Manu, played by R. Madhavan are back in the sequel, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. The trailer of the romantic drama was released on Tuesday (April 14).

While most films just cash in on the performance of the prequel, Anand L. Rai’s directorial venture is exactly what a sequel is all about.

The film picks off four years hence since the couple’s wedding. The marriage has lost its luster and both Tanu-Manu, living in London decide they need a break to fix things. They make a trip to India to attend Manu’s friend, Pappi’s wedding. On reaching Kanpur, Tanu immediately returns to her old self and Manu regrets the marriage altogether.

But, things take a turn when he finds himself falling for a tomboy from Haryana, Kusum (Kangana Ranaut), who interestingly is a spitting image of his wife Tanu. But that’s not all; complications arise when Tanu’s ex fiancé Raja (played by Jimmy Sheirgill) turns up as well. Will Tanu and Mnau find love in each other again? Let’s wait and watch!

Also featuring Jimmy Shergill, Deepak Dobriyal and Eijaz Khan, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ hits screens on May 22.
