Bollywood is soon going to be flooded with new faces from the television. After Barun Sobti and Karan Singh Grover, Gurmeet Singh and Sapna Pabbi are also heading towards the release of their debut movie ‘Khamoshiyan’.
The trailer of the movie was unveiled by Mahesh Bhatt on Twitter today followed by text which read: Many silences. Many secrets. Watch the trailer of #Khamoshiyan and let me know what you think!
Sapna Pabbi, who played the role of Anil Kapoor’s daughter in the hit television show ’24’, has given some really bold scenes with Ali Fazal. Ali, is already a face people are familiar with after doing movies like, ‘Fukrey’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ and ‘Sonali Cable.
Ali plays the role of an unsuccessful writer who meets Sonal, a mysterious woman and starts looking for a story in her haunted mansion. Gurmeet is barely seen in the trailer as what we assume from it is that he plays the role of Sapna’s husband whom she ‘kills’ later.
The trailer has its moments but they die soon. The last scene of a man/ghost spewing fire is scary enough, though.
Earlier, Mahesh Bhatt had compared ‘Khamoshiyan’ to Kamal Amrohi’s ‘Mahal’ (1969). But don’t be surprised if the trailer brings back the memories of Bipasha Basu and John Abraham’s ‘Jism’ with Sapna’s character saying, “Hum jism nahin rooh ko bas me karne ka shauq rakhtey hain. Ujaalon mein nahin, andheron mein sawanrtey hain.”
Directed by Karan Darra, the movie will hit the screens on May 1, 2015.
