Tumbbad re-release box office collection: The film is just Rs 6 cr shy of crossing its original run's figures.
The cult horror film Tumbbad, starring Sohum Shah in the lead role and directed by Rahi Anil Barve, was re-released in the theatres this weekend. Tumbbad has performed better than many new Hindi films, despite being a re-release. After opening with Rs 1.6 crore on the first day, Tumbbad made Rs 2.6 crore on the second day and ended its opening weekend with Rs 3 crore on Sunday. This takes the film’s nett domestic total to Rs 7.2 crore, as per trade website Sacnilk.
At the time of its original release in 2018, Tumbbad’s opening weekend grossed Rs 3.25 crore, and the film managed to only make Rs 13.25 crore during its theatrical run. Currently, the film is only Rs 6 crore away from crossing that mark and with no significant releases this week, this is entirely possible. Stree 2, which was released almost a month ago, is still attracting audiences. But the horror comedy film has already made over Rs 550 crore at the box office, and is now nearing the end of its blockbuster theatrical run.
