Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM) Box Office Collection Day 1 Early Report: Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s newly released film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri may have arrived on a holiday, but it has failed to make any significant impact at the box office. Releasing amid the box office rampage of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and James Cameron’s newly released Avatar: Fire And Ash, the film has managed to collect only around Rs 5.5 crore as of 8 PM on its opening day and is heading towards a single-digit opening at the Indian box office. In comparison, Dhurandhar is closing in on Rs 20 crore earning on the 20th day of its release.

The dominance of these two strong-performing titles severely affected the film’s screen count, with the Dharma Productions venture receiving just 2,246 shows across India. Despite being a much-anticipated reunion of Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday after their 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh, and marking Kartik and Karan Johar’s first collaboration after their public fallout during Dostana 2, the film failed to generate adequate buzz. Most theatres opted to prioritise films that were already showing stronger box office traction.

Being an urban-centric romantic film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri was expected to benefit from strong multiplex support. However, the limited availability of screens in premium properties has put the film in a challenging position. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has received only 404 shows in Mumbai and 518 in the National Capital Region.

Directed by Satyaprem Ki Katha filmmaker Sameer Vidwans, the film marks Kartik Aaryan’s first release after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 last year. While that film opened to mixed reviews, it went on to earn Rs 400.35 crore globally, cementing Kartik’s position as one of the most bankable stars in the post-COVID era. His success has often been credited with reviving theatrical footfalls, with actors like Kangana Ranaut previously acknowledging his role in ending Bollywood’s dry spell with the massive success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in 2022.

For Ananya Panday, this is her second release after Kesari 2 this year, also produced by Dharma Productions. While the film earned around Rs 145 crore, it was poorly received and underperformed commercially, failing to reach its breakeven point.

Adding to the film’s woes, it will face fresh competition next week with Ikkis. Directed by Sriram Raghavan—best known for Andhadhun and Badlapur—the film stars Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan. Ikkis also marks the final on-screen appearance of veteran actor Dharmendra, who passed away in November.
