Tina Ahuja reveals dad Govinda was very particular about her figure during her teens: ‘He used to tell me to lose weight when my stomach was growing out’
Tina Ahuja has revealed that her father Govinda wanted her to lose weight as a teenager.
Tina Ahuja recalls that her father, Govinda, was particular about her weight during her teens.
Actor Tina Ahuja doesn’t shy away from talking about her relationship with her father Govinda. Earlier, Tina had revealed that he was hardly around during her childhood. Now, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Tina spoke about how her father used to be very particular about her weight during her teens and asked her to “lose weight” when her “stomach was growing out”.
Recalling the time when she was a teenager, Tina shared she gained weight due to health issues and opened up about how her father Govinda used to be very particular about it. She said, “For my teens, my father was very particular about my figure and weight. He used to tell me, lose your weight, your stomach is growing out.”
Tina added, “I remember I went to Switzerland for a shoot with him. I loved the milk there. He was shooting, and I was having milk and hot chocolate. By the time we went to London from Switzerland, my pants were not fitting me. He was like girls should look beautiful and have their weight in check.”
Tina Ahuja also shared how she used to discuss her weight gain with her father. She said, ”I cried to my dad. I was like, ‘What just happened to me?’ Because coming from a 24 waist to then suddenly coming into UK 10, like, you know, it was quite a thing for me because I was always a UK 6.”
Tina Ahuja made her Bollywood debut in 2015 opposite Gippy Grewal and Dharmendra in the romantic-comedy Second Hand Husband. She is yet to announce her sophomore project. Meanwhile, Govinda has been on a hiatus from acting since 2019.
