Vishal Pandya’s next directorial ‘Hate Story 3’ has been in news more for its cast rather than its plot. It was earlier reported that the makers have replaced Sharman Joshi and have brought in Gurmeet Choudhary in his place.
Gurmeet, who made his Bollywood debut with the erotic drama ‘Khamoshiyan’, was more than happy to take up the project.
But the makers had a change of mind and they have got Sharman back to play the role. The reason given for this was that the makers wanted a ‘performer’.
According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, Vishal said that he had made a mistake by casting Gurmeet in place of Sharman. He said, “Sometimes you take a wrong decision in a hurry. That’s exactly what happened. The film was getting delayed and Sharman had date issues. Also, while working on the third draft of the script, I felt that Sharman wasn’t the right choice for the role and so decided to cast Gurmeet believing that since he’s a new face it would help my movie.
Eventually I realised that I need a performer and that’s why we approached Sharman again. Luckily, he agreed and the date issues too were sorted out.”
This hasn’t gone down too well with Gurmeet and he has reacted sharply on this. He said, “I don’t know what sort of a performer they are looking for. But I seemed to fit their bill pretty well until recently. Suddenly, I am a non-performer just because I couldn’t adjust my dates according to their requirements?”
According to a report published in DNA, Gurmeet seemed angry and disappointed at this development. He further said, “It’s unfair to pull an actor down just because he is unable to do your film. I could not do Hate Story 3 as I have another film lined up during the same period. People can say what they like. I am too busy building my career and physique to be bothered by what anyone is saying.
I’ve a lot to do, lots to achieve as an actor. It’s sad that instead of encouraging me some elements are trying to pull me down. I don’t get angry. I have my kickboxing and martial arts to keep me calm.”
The erotic revenge thriller also stars Karan Singh Grover and will roll in July. It will be shot extensively in Fiji and Mumbai.
