Tere Ishk Mein advance day 1 box office collection: Director Aanand L Rai’s latest romantic-drama film, Tere Ishk Mein, has finally started its theatrical run. While the advance booking reports didn’t seem to paint a very positive picture for the makers of the film, it seems to be doing rather well considering it’s only been a few hours since the first show. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 2.09 crore at the time of publishing.
The Dhanush and Kriti Sanon starrer still have afternoon, evening and night shows to go through, and the latter half is bound to bring more money than the former. With the whole day ahead, it is quite possible that Tere Ishk Mein might have a double-digit opening day. At the end of the pre-sales, the film closed with a gross total of Rs 5.65 crore. If the block seats are taken into account, the earnings rise up to Rs 9.26 crore.
A further look into the sales of the tickets reveals a major difference between Hindi and Tamil sales. The film has more than 12500 shows in Hindi and 1000 shows in Tamil, so it is understandable if Tamil sales are less, but the difference is a lot more than anticipated. The Hindi shows have sold over 2.1 lakh tickets, bringing in Rs 5.3 crore. On the other hand, the Tamil shows have only sold 26000 tickets, earning Rs 34 lakh. With Dhanush as the star of the film, could the makers have focused more towards Tamil shows?
Despite the troubling difference in sales, the total still looks promising, and if the film gets positive reviews from critics and fans, the opening weekend can prove quite lucrative for the makers. It will be a shame if Tere Ishk Mein is not able to capitalise on this running start and falls prey to bad reviews and poor word of mouth.
Directed by Aanand L Rai, the cast of the film includes Dhanush, Kriti Sanon, and Prakash Raj. The music has been composed by A. R. Rahman, while the story has been penned by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav.
