Tere Ishk Mein advance booking: Even after being fuelled by Tamil star Dhanush’s return to Hindi cinema after 4 years, it seems that Tere Ishk Mein will be getting off to a slow start at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Aanand L. Rai directorial has sold tickets worth Rs 1.13 crore. Starring Kriti Sanon opposite Dhanush, the film will need to make up for this slow day tomorrow if it hopes to get off to a strong start at the box office.
In total, Tere Ishk Mein has 5113 shows all over the country, with just 60 in Tamil and the rest in Hindi. The makers of the film have sold 45,767 tickets in Hindi and 369 tickets in Tamil until now, which brings up an average of just 9 and 6 viewers per show, respectively. This doesn’t bode well for the film, and even if block seats are taken into play, the total sale of tickets is worth Rs 2.69 crore. If this keeps going on like this, the film will have to be chalked up as a disappointment for Dhanush and Kriti Sanon at the box office.
Dhanush’s last film, Idly Kadai, made Rs 50.48 crore net in India, and its worldwide collection was just over Rs 71 crore. His last Hindi film was another Aanand L. Rai directorial, Atrangi Re, starring Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan. The film was released directly on JioHotstar (then Disney+Hotstar). Kriti’s last theatrical release was the Rajesh A Krishnan directorial Crew, starring Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Diljit Dosanjh. During its theatrical run the film made Rs 81 crore net in India.
Maharashtra is leading the race with the most amount of shows, 1003, with New Delhi and Gujarat trailing behind with 725 and 648 shows, respectively. However, the huge amount of shows won’t make a difference if the makers are not able to fill the seats. If the film’s advance booking numbers remain low, it will affect the opening day and weekend. That can snowball into an underwhelming week, at which point the film is bound to start bleeding shows.
Directed by Aanand L Rai, the cast of Tere Ishk Mein includes Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. The music has been composed by A. R. Rahman, and the film will release in theatres on November 28.
