Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Tamasha earns Rs 38.23 cr in first weekend

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Tamasha’s first weekend numbers at the box office are out, and the film has been going head strong. The Imtiaz Ali film has made a total of Rs. 38.23 cr within three days of its release. (Read ‘Tamasha’s review here)

A steady rise has been witnessed in the collections each day at the box office. On the first day of its release, ‘Tamasha’ earned Rs. 10.94 cr, it made Rs. 13.17 cr on the second day and the collections were even higher on day three, which were Rs. 14.12 cr. In all, the film has made Rs. 38.23 cr until now.

Releasing two weeks after Salman Khan’s superhit ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, ‘Tamasha’ makers seem to have chosen the right slot for its release. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:

Having brought Deepika and Ranbir back on screen after a gap of two years, Imtiaz Ali film has proved that this is going to be another evergreen couple after Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol which will keep spreading its magic each time they are seen together.

Next big releases of this year are Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’ and Deepika, Ranveer, Priyanka starrer ‘Bajirao Mastani’ which will clash at the box office as both the films will release on December 18.
