Superboys of Malegaon trailer: Reema Kagti shows how a ‘Made-in-Malegaon’ movie turns a sleepy town into a dreamfactory

Superboys of Malegaon is a story of a bunch of young men in the town who are passionate about filmmaking. They turned their passion into a dream factory by coming together and pooling their resources to tell the story of Malegaon which is bristling with communal tensions, poverty and hardship.

Superboys of Malegaon stars a stellar cast including The White Tiger fame Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh of Mukkabaaz fame, and Made In Heaven’s Shashank Arora.

In a special preview of the trailer, director Reema Kagti on Thursday opened up about the film’s genre and how it is quite different from films being made in India today. She said they hope to attract the Indian diaspora settled in countries abroad, starting with Canada.

Co-written by Varun Grover and Kagti, the film tells the captivating story of Nasir and his friends as they navigate life’s ups and downs over several years. With a perfect blend of humour, adventure, and vibrant characters, this movie celebrates the magic that unfolds when creativity, determination, loyalty, and love come together, showcasing the incredible feats that can be achieved through the power of imagination and friendship.

While the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in India in January 2025, the film will have its global premiere at TIFF on September 13.
