Story of Onir’s ‘Shab’ is close to my heart: Wendell Rodricks

Wendell Rodricks says the story of Onir's movie 'Shab' is close to his heart which made him take up styling for its lead actor.

"The subject of the movie is the one which I have always been experiencing." “The subject of the movie is the one which I have always been experiencing.”

Noted fashion designer Wendell Rodricks says the story of Onir’s movie ‘Shab’ is close to his heart which made him take up styling for its lead actor.

“The subject of the movie is the one which I have always been experiencing,” Rodricks told PTI today.

“Onir requested me whether I can dress a male star of the movie… I agreed to it,” said the designer, who had designed costumes for Bipasha Basu-starrer 2003 film ‘Jism’.

Wendell said he wanted to look at himself as a stylist and not as a fashion designer for the project (‘Shab’).

“The look of a character is very important for any movie. I am not looking at this project for public relations, but as a project which is very close to my heart,” he said.

Set in Delhi, ‘Shab’ is an edgy, dark and complex relationship story of four characters, who are leading a double life and all of a sudden their masks come off.

“Thrilled to have the Padmashree Awardee Wendell Rodricks to style my actor @Ashishbisht29 for @ShabTheFilm,” Onir posted on Twitter earlier.
