Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam and T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar recently buried the hatchet after a public fallout in 2020. Kumar attended the singer’s 50th birthday party and the latter visited the T-Series office for Ganpati darshan and clicked pictures with Bhushan Kumar. Now, the singer spoke highly of Kumar and his perspective on music. Sonu also said that Kumar is like his younger brother with whom he can talk about work for hours. But, the duo cannot discuss personal life as Kumar is too focussed on his work.

During a chat with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, Sonu said Bhushan is determined to recreate ‘Yeh Dil Deewana’ with him. “Bhushan Kumar has pledged to do ‘Deewana 2’ with me. I trust him because he is like my younger brother. We have had some issues in the past. I have considered his father as my father, so he is like my younger brother. I consider his family as my mentors. They love me. Also, I trust his acumen,” the singer said.

He added, “I would prefer he only makes the song because my passion is not even close to his. The perspective with which he looks at a song makes him recognise whether it would be a hit or not.”

Appreciating Kumar for his dedication towards work, Sonu said, “He is a very hard-working guy. He is quite a committed and passionate man. He doesn’t talk about anything but work. We can talk about music but we cannot talk about our personal life because he is so involved in his work. He has one track mind.”

The rift between Sonu Nigam and Bhushan Kumar emerged in 2020 after the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Nigam had taken to Twitter to share a video that shed light on the ‘music mafia’ in the Bollywood industry and urged music companies to show compassion towards struggling artists.

In a subsequent video, he directly called out Bhushan Kumar and said, “Now, I need to take Bhushan Kumar’s name. You’ve instigated the wrong person. You forgot that time when you came to my home and pleaded me to do one album for you, pleaded me to introduce you to Subrata Roy, Smita Thackeray, Bal Thackeray… Pleaded me to save you from Abu Salem. Do you remember all this? I’m warning you not to engage with me in any manner. Hope you remember Marina Kuwar. I don’t know why she backed out, though the media knows. That’s how the mafia functions. I still have her video. Now if you mess with me, I will post that video on my YouTube channel. Don’t you dare mess with me.”
