For Akira, Sonkashi Sinha has done what she has never tried before — singing. The actress was at the MMK College in Mumbai to launch the song ‘Rajj Rajj Ke’ for Akira. The actress who is eventually planning a full-fledged career in music has lent her voice to the track of the song. This was not her first music launch. The Lootera star made her singing debut last year with the independent single ‘Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai’.
In the music video of ‘Rajj Rajj Ke’ she is pure rage, ready to shatter everything in her way. In fact, she actually breaks a television set. The film Akira gives us a glimpse of Sonakshi Sinha like we have never seen her before.
Previously we have seen her as the gorgeous ‘yaar’ in Yo Yo Honey Singh’s ‘ Desi Kalakaar’ song, even in the music video of ‘Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai’. In both the songs, she was seen in a happy-go-lucky avatar, surrounded by expensive cars and latest gadgets. However in ‘Rajj Rajj Ke’ she is neither happy nor is she some steamy ‘ishqholic’ girlfriend.
The 29-year-old actress interacted with the media during the launch of ‘Rajj Rajj Ke’ and also performed the song live for the students. “I eventually want to have a career in music. I love singing and dancing a lot. Little by little, I want to sing more. I had released ‘Ishqholic’ and now I am happy my first song for a film has been recorded for ‘Akira’,” she said.
Composed by Vishal-Shekhar, the promotional track has been sung by Sonakshi, while the film version has been crooned by Nahid Afrin of Indian Idol Junior fame. The Dabangg actress, who was one of the judges on the show, had promised Nahid that she will offer her a song in her next film.
“I am very happy that what I had promised, through Vishal and Shekhar, it came true. I am really happy for our film because Nahid is supremely talented. She has such a lovely voice,” Sonakshi said.
“When I was sitting on the judge’s chair, I used to get goosebumps listening to her voice. I am happy she was able to sing for this and that I was able to keep my promise,” said Sonkashi Sinha.
