Actor John Abraham considers the small screen a platform which gives wider reach to films than the big screen itself. “I think the small screen reaches out to far more people than the big screen does. I have noticed there are certain films, like Force. It became a far bigger film when it released on television than it was on screen,” John told IANS over E-mail.
John’s Rocky Handsome premiered on Sony Max on Sunday, and he feels it must have got a wider reach. The actor-producer says while TV multiplies the reach of content by several times, the medium can’t be compared to cinema.
“You can’t compare the two, very honestly. The two are totally different vehicles and they serve their purposes mutually, exclusively and in correlation with each other. So I can’t really compare,” he said. John is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film “Force 2”, which also features Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The film is the sequel to the 2011 action thriller “Force” directed by Nishikant Kamat.
Meanwhile, John Abraham will wrap up his upcoming action film Force 2 by mid-September, almost two months before the movie hits theatres. The Dishoom star is currently filming the last leg of the Abhinay Deo-directed action-thriller.
“I am shooting nights for Force as we speak. I’ve slept only for half an hour and now I am here. I am doing action sequences now. It is coming out fantastic,” John told in an interview. Force 2 will bring together the Rocky Handsome star opposite actress Sonakshi Sinha for the first time.
