Akshay Kumar’s ‘Singh Is Bliing’ makes for a perfect watch for all the comedy lovers. Loaded with Akshay’s trademark slapstick humour, the movie is touted to be a full on masala entertainer.

Year 2015 has already been going great for Akshay with his earlier three movies doing great business at the Box Office. ‘Baby’, ‘Gabbar Is Back’, and ‘Brothers’ have been instrumental in establishing the supremacy of the Khiladi as an actor.

The Prabhudheva directorial has been promoted well and does expect to attract a good audience on the opening day. Riding solely on Akshay’s shoulders, the movie is expected to work even better in single screen theatres.

The film also marks the return of Lara Dutta to the silver screen after a brief hiatus. Its songs Tung tung baje by Diljit Dosanjh and Tu hai Singh main hoon Kaur are already topping the charts.

The second release of the weekend is Meghna Gulzar’s directorial ‘Talvar’ starring Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma. With such a star cast, this movie is a good dose of quality cinema. The initial reviews suggest that the movie is a must watch whodunnit brilliantly executed by the whole team.

Based on the 2008 Noida double murder case of Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj, ‘Talvar’ seems to be a riveting drama that, as the team has been suggesting till now, doesn’t want to come to a conclusion but wants to initiate a debate about the legal proceedings in India.

The cast – Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma – speaks for itself. Vishal Bhardwaj, whose directorial ‘Haider’ broke many a record at the award events last year, has backed this project. As it happens in movies of genre, ‘Talvar’ hasn’t been promoted that much and expects to run solely on the word of mouth.

The third release of the weekend is the Hollywood release ‘The Martian’, an intriguing tale of Mars invasion.

The story revolves around Mark Watney, played by Matt Damon, who is presumed dead and left behind, when astronauts blast off from the planet Mars after a fierce storm. With only a meager amount of supplies, the stranded visitor must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission.

An interesting plot as this truly deserves a watch and hence, the movie is speculated to attract in a lot of sci-fi lovers. Based on Andy Weir’s novel, ‘The Martian’ is a treat for the fantasy lovers as well and with NASA scientists finding traces of water on the planet Mars, the timing of the movie couldn’t have been any better.

So, get set and grab your popcorn, for comedy, realism and fiction, you have it all.
