The trailer of Shorgul, starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Ashutosh Rana, directed by Jitendra Tiwari and P Singh has been unveiled. The power-packed political drama is said to be based on several real incidents that have made headlines over the years. Intertwined, of course, with a love story.

Jimmy, who plays the role of a prominent politician, looks promising in his new avatar. The talented Ashutosh looks every bit as powerful and evil as his character is meant to be.

The film is set on the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, bringing in elements of religious clashes, political rivalry and power games amid high-profile characters.

In the movie, the innocent friendship between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl rapidly escalates into a political minefield, causing unrest and chaos in the state. The matter snowballs into an interesting series of events and takes an unexpected turn, becoming a national issue.

Interestingly, the lyrics for Shorgul have been penned by senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal.

Shorgul also features Sanjay Suri, Narendra Jha, Eijaz Khan, Hiten Tejwani, Anirudh Dave, Suha Gezen ad=nd Deepraj Rana in prominent roles. The movie is slated to hit theatres on June 24.
