Shehnaaz Gill, who was recently seen in the Punjabi film Ikk Kudi, has opened up about her difficult experiences in past relationships. When asked if she had ever betrayed someone, the actor admitted that she had done so in a romantic relationship, explaining that she felt compelled to when she wasn’t receiving enough love in return. Shehnaaz also shared that she has always believed in financial equality in relationships, even though some men in her life have been offended by that stance.

In a chat with SMTV YouTube channel, Shehnaaz was asked about betrayals and if she has ever betrayed anyone, and she said, “I have. In love. Not otherwise.” Shehnaaz then explained that she only did it because she felt like her expectations were not being met. “I only did it because the vibe wasn’t matching. When you expect something from someone, and they don’t meet those expectations… I have those expectations. I can’t just keep on giving. I believe in give and take. So when such things happen, I call it off because you can’t invest so much in someone else. Because then you are wasting your time.”

She added, “A woman wants to be loved in exchange for love. If someone can’t love you, then what’s the point?” Shehnaaz was then asked about her expectations from her partner and she shared her wishlist, “I want my partner to be understanding, open minded, independent. They should give me space. We should be able to show our work to each other, appreciate it together. We should be able to talk to each other without our phones. We should be able to travel together.”

When asked if she was willing to share the finances as well, Shehnaaz shared, “All the relationships that I have been in, I have always believed in sharing. Like if we are on a vacation, we split the bills in half.” The actor shared that some men find this offensive and said that this hurts their “male ego”. “Men have a problem with this. They feel, ‘Why your money? I can just spend my money’. I wonder why? Is it because they’re insecure that a woman can pay for herself? I am very particular about these things,” she said.

In the same chat, Shehnaaz also shared that money is extremely important for her as she sees this as a means of securing her future. She also added that she isn’t sure if she wants to get married. “I know that I have no one who can look after me financially. I don’t know if I will get married or not. So I just want to save for myself, my future, take care of my health, I also have to take care of my family members so I have to work as long as I can,” she said.
