Shalini Passi reveals her wedding cards were created by MF Hussain, opens up about her fabulous life: ‘We carry our own vegetables wherever we go’
The standout cast member of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives' latest season, Shalini Passi, opened up about the perks of being wealthy.
Shalini Passi appeared on the third season of Netflix's Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
Shalini Passi, who recently appeared on the Netflix reality show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, opened up about her experiences as someone who was married off at the age of 21, and left to navigate an unfamiliar world. She also offered some insight into her ‘fabulous life’, and revealed that none other than MF Hussain created her wedding cards. Shalini is married to businessman Sanjay Passi, and is a close family friend of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan.
In an interview with India Today, she spoke about carrying her own vegetables with her wherever she travels in the world. She said, “We carry our goat curd wherever they don’t have it. We carry our sprouts. And obviously, we carry our vegetables to Bombay. Even the lemons there aren’t good. We try to send our recipes to chefs wherever we’re traveling to.”
Shalini was also asked about how she got the legendary MF Hussain to craft customised wedding cards for her. She said, “Hussain sahab has been very close to my husband’s family. My husband’s family approached him to make the wedding cards, and he said, ‘First, I’ll see the girl and then I’ll paint’. Then he saw me and said, ‘This is a Radha-Krishna jodi’, and he painted a set of four beautiful wedding cards. One was for the Mata Ki Chowki, one was for the Sangeet, one for the wedding and one for the reception.”

Shalini appeared alongside Kalyani Chawla and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni as a part of the Delhi group in the latest season of the Netflix show, which brought back the original Mumbai ‘wives’ Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Bhavana Pandey and Neelam Kothari. Shalini’s eccentricities made her a standout on the show, and attracted a lot of attention from her fellow cast members.
