For the past few days, rumours about Shahid Kapoor’s next film, ‘Farzi’, being shelved were doing the rounds. The reason for this was the not-so-happy response to ‘Happy Ending’ which was directed by Raj and DK. They were supposed to kick-start ‘Farzi’ early next year. However, this too has been yet another plain and simple speculation.
Talking about it, Raj Nidimoru said, “I am wondering where is the so-called news, which is nothing but plain speculation, coming from,” says , “It is as random as it gets. The film is certainly on and we are in pre-production.”
“We did take a small break before starting on preparation,” adds Krishna DK, who was traveling for a few days while he celebrated his birthday, “Even after we lock the final script, we usually take two to three months aside just for the preparation. It isn’t any different for ‘Farzi’.”
Reportedly, the work is on in full swing for this Eros production, with a secondary cast being put together and production design work on schedule.
“And since we are on it, let us dispel another myth around the film. No, it isn’t about internet hacking, as is another rumor making the rounds,” says Raj, “The film is very contemporary and is set in today’s time and scenario. Also, it is not a remake of any film, it is truly original. The film has a very big canvas to it and also has a slight action and satirical humor.”
They are not bothered about the fact that the exact date for the start of film’s shoot is yet to be finalized.
“There was never any fixed start date. It was always decided that once Shahid and Nawaz are done with their current projects, we will start Farzi,” says DK, “In January or at maximum February, we would be on.”
Meanwhile Kriti Sanon, the leading lady of the film, is already looking forward to the film going on floors. Even as she gears uo for her role, she says, “It is a totally new part for a female protagonist. I am kicked enough to get going soon.”
