Kaminey had been a path-breaking film in Shahid Kapoor’s career and the actor has once again collaborated with Vishal Bhardwaj for his upcoming film Haider. Though speculations about Kaminey 2 have been doing rounds for a while, it is only now that Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj decided to reveal about their third outing together.
While Haider is the Indian adaptation of the famous Shakespearean play Hamlet, Kaminey 2 will be a genuine pulp fiction. Kaminey had tasted critical acclaim and audience appreciation. Also, the music had gained popularity, especially the club number ‘Dhan Te Nan’. An excited Shahid Kapoor also revealed that this time around too, Kaminey 2 will have an amazing re-interpretation of the same song but in the form of a romantic version.
In fact, Shahid Kapoor revealed that Vishal Bhardwaj already has the ready script. Once Haider releases, Vishal’s team will soon complete the screenplay of the Kaminey 2.

The first installment had Shahid Kapoor playing a double role along with Priyanka Chopra playing the female lead. The film also had Amole Gupte and Chandan Roy Sanyal among others portraying prominent roles. However, for the sequel, the leading lady and the other casting details are yet to be finalized. For now, Shahid Kapoor is busy concentrating on other commitments.
The actor recently wrapped the first shoot schedule of Vikas Bahl’s Shandaar with Alia Bhatt in UK. Shahid Kapoor is currently busy promoting Haider along with his co-star Shraddha Kapoor. Haider produced by Vishal Bhardwaj in association with UTV, also stars Tabu, Kay Kay Menon, Kulbhushan Kharbanda among others and is slated to release on October 2. Post this, the actor will also be seen playing the role of a con artist in Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.’s next directorial Farzi.
