Actor, writer and producer Viveck Vaswani, one of the oldest friends of Shah Rukh Khan from the film industry, on Wednesday tweeted that the most admirable quality of the superstar is that he is unafraid to take risks in his career.

Vaswani said SRK has never shied away from taking a gamble, from his earlier works in the 90s when he was an anti-hero in films like Darr and Baazigar, his quieter turn in Swades, his attempt at making India’s superhero film Ra.One or the romantic drama Zero. Post pandemic, the producer said both his actioners Pathaan and Jawan are “risks” too.

“Here’s understanding how @iamsrk works & it’s simple; he’s not averse to risks! Baazigar was a risk; Darr was a risk; Swades, Asoka, Ra1, Zero were risks! Playing Pathaan was a risk; so is Jawaan. That’s his way, it works for him because he’s unafraid and unaffected by outcomes!” he tweeted.

When a Twitter user asked how was Pathaan a risk, the producer replied that Shah Rukh went against “all medical advice” to film Pathaan at his age and carve a “new SRK”, which was different from his iconic characters of Raj and Rahul.

“At the age of 58, Mr Bachchan played father to Aishwarya in Mohabbatein. SRK went against all medical advice, recreated, reinvented, remoulded himself and put Raj Rahul and Raju to rest, making Pathaan iconic and creating a new SRK. Grave risk. You may think differently,” Vaswani added.

Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in a double role of a father and son in Jawan. The film marks the first collaboration between him and Atlee, known for Tamil hits with Vijay like Theri, Mersal and Bigil. Jawan will release on September 7.
