Samir Soni recalls what Bhagyashree told him after recoiling during ‘suhagrat’ scene: ‘I have little kids…’

Actor Bhagyashree said that it was her choice to draw clear lines about what she would and wouldn’t do on screen. She said in a new interview that this certainly made people around her concerned about what kind of films she’d be offered, and that it could affect her career.

While chatting with Siddharth Kannan, alongside her NRI Wives co-star Samir Soni, she spoke abut prioritising her family over her career, when Samir recalled an old incident about how uncomfortable she became while shooting a romantic scene for a film.

He said, “We were playing lovers, and she was playing a blind girl. It was a ‘suhagrat’ scene, and our director had set a very nice frame near a window, under the moonlight. It was a romantic scene, but the moment I’d come near her, she would recoil. This happened again and again. I wondered what the problem was, plus, she was supposed to be blind; how did she even know I was coming close to her?”
