While fans online continued to gush over the newly surfaced images, the celebrations were also met with a wave of speculation, about the couple’s relationship, Raj’s ex-wife Shhyamali, and even rumours questioning whether the filmmaker was legally divorced. Amid the chatter, Raj’s sister Sheetal shared a family portrait from the wedding on Instagram, featuring herself, their parents, her sons, and the newly married couple. Her caption attempted to settle the noise, noting these were “not tears of pain… but tears of gratitude.” She added: “Gratitude for the peace I feel in this moment, for the clarity that has settled around our family, and for the deep sense of ‘gentle alignment’ in Raj and Samantha’s journey.”

Samantha and Raj first worked together the Prime Video series The Family Man, followed by Citadel: Honey Bunny, where their relationship is reported to have blossomed. Previously, Samantha was married to actor Naga Chaitanya; the couple separated in 2021 after four years of marriage. Naga is now married to actor Sobhita Dhulipala.
