The 1983 movie ‘Hero’ has arrived again, this time in a more modern version and with new faces. Serving as the launch pad for Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj and Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya, the official trailer of the movie was launched by Salman Khan today (July 15) at an event in Mumbai.

The first thing that catches the eye is ‘Salman Khan introduces’. ‘Hero’ is the second movie, after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, that’s being made under the banner ‘Salman Khan Films’. Taking that into consideration, after Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Varun and Alia, it’s by far the largest launch pad given to any star kid.

Talking of the star kids, Sooraj Pancholi shows class and better than what his father Aditya showcased in his earlier movies. A great physique just adds to the glam quotient.

The scenes in which he is supposed to shout and yell at Athiya present some finer nuances by the actor, and that is a rare achievement.

Athiya Shetty is fresh and beautiful. She does bring out the rebellious streak in her character quite naturally.

Athiya shares an uncanny resemblance with her father Suniel Shetty as far as the expressions are concerned.

The trailer takes you back and forth the original movie couple of times especially at the end, when Athiya says, “Pyaar karne waale kabhi darrte nahin, darrte hain toh pyaar kartey nahin.” And that just raises your hopes to new levels.

‘Hero’s trailer doesn’t disappoint much with its high-energy action sequences or high-on-passion romantic scenes. The only disappointment comes when there’s too much of everything – the action, drama, ‘pyaar’ and music. Whether the too much of everything can work in the present era of movies is a different question altogether; but for now, Sooraj and Athiya can rejoice their larger-than-life beginnings.

Directed by Nikhil Advani, ‘Hero’ is slated to hit theatres on September 11.
